29 April 2009.  Dog attack in Wasilla, Alaska.
A martial arts student was attacked by a 100+ pound Mastiff.  The student is 7 years old and only weighs 64 pounds and has been training with Primal Martial Arts for over a year.  The dog leaped at the student's throat/face with it's powerful jaws, whereas the student immediately did a blocking maneuver.  The dog bit into the student's arm and then released to get a better grab.  The student then rolled over on his stomach protecting his head and neck and the dog bit him again in the back.  The student received puncture wounds on both his arm and back and was taken to the emergency room and then later released.
The student's parents attribute his quick reflexes and courage under fire a direct result of his training which most likely saved his life.
